Title: Just For Now(Escape to New Zealand #3)
Author: Rosalind James
Date Published: 8/30/2012
There’s no place like home . . .
For
teacher Jenna McKnight, nothing spells “heartbreak” like finding her
husband with somebody else–in her bed. Clearly, it’s time to reinvent
herself. A new body, a new city, and a new job later, she’s done just
that. This isn’t really her home, though. Or her family, however much
she wishes it were. And playing house can be a dangerous game.
New
Zealand rugby star Finn Douglas is just looking for a temporary nanny.
Not a girlfriend, and definitely not a wife. He can’t resist Jenna’s
cooking, it’s true. Who knew that he’d have so much trouble resisting
her? He wants to do what’s right for his kids. But waiting is so hard . .
.
My Review:
I absolutely love this series of New Zealand rugby romance stories!! Ms James writing is smooth and sharp--and so finely crafted. The series is definitely intended for an adult audience with many explicit sexual scenes and her characters are so real and invite you right into their world.
Jenna grew up without a lot of affection and carried around a lot of baggage. She became the person who was the antithesis of her mother. Jenna was caring and giving and wanted to take care of people...a family. She could cook up a storm after having grown up on tv dinners.
Finn was a Rugby star and a great dad. He needed someone to care for his children. After assuming Jenna applied for the nanny position to get her hands on himself, he was surprised to find that his kids already knew Jenna and loved her.
And although Jenna was the nanny, her caregiving also included Finn. She would cook for him and discuss things with him, and fall in love with him. This was such an intimate and romantic read. With two children, Sophie and Harry to point out things like wombat bottoms, I found this book extremely heartwarming and enjoyable. Much appreciated Ms James! Much Appreciated!
