I just finished the third book in the Divergent series, Allegiant byVeronica Roth. And what a tale it was! I wish I had some idea that would be that good in the form of a book!! How do these authors come up with this stuff? I wish them the best in their endeavors ....just keep those creative juices flowing!!
I'm rating Allegiant a 5 Wink read. That said, let's read the Goodreads SYNOPSIS:
The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.
Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.
From My Perspective:
The main characters of Tris and Tobias really grew and developed in this third book of the series. Tobias who seemed so unintimidated in Divergent, revealed an uncertain side in Allegiant. He lacked self confidence. Tris on the other hand, held a lot of self confidence, but was warring between what the right thing to do was. As with most of us, the wrong thing is very tempting to our flesh; this was what she had to overcome.
Exploring the Bureau and learning of the division of people, those that were genetically pure and those who were "Damaged", was just a repeat of their city, Chicago, using a different label. Still there was injustice from those in power and those who weren't. And thus, another war was brought about to wipe the slate clean and begin anew and afresh. And... as in any war there are casualties.
I enjoyed the strong relationships of the characters throughout the book. The characters seemed stronger once again in Allegiant. I, like any other romantic at heart, had to love Tris and Tobias' love story. Allegiant may not have ended as I would have liked, but it was in keeping with the realities of war. This one made me cry and the series certainly allows the mind to wonder, what if....?
The Divergent Series was thought provoking, adventurous, exhilarating, touching and very satisfying. I hope my grandkids will read this series. And further I hope that reading the series will somehow change us in our categorization of our fellow man.
