Summer In Salem (Electi #1)

Character Bio:

Teagan: Main character, lost her boyfriend mysteriously nine months ago. She is an artist, likes to stay home on rainy nights, and her style is boho chic. Something you didn't know: Her favorite food is pickles.
Lark: Awesome painter, total hippie. Loves expensive things and fragrances. Can be founding spinning in the street during a thunderstorm. Something you didn't know: She loves to play board games at the local retirement home.
Gran: Classy old lady who doesn't drive, makes awesome pie and chocolate chip cookies. Lives in a huge old mansion and may very possibly be a witch. Something you didn't know: She knows all the words to "Baby Got Back."

My Review:

I so wanted to read Summer in Salem.   Well Cover love drew me at the start as well as the title.   I love that orange and yellow flower against that black cover.   Now after reading the story within the covers, I think the flower represents Teagan's purity of heart and the black cover represents the Invidia', enemy of the Electi .  Work's for me.

Moving Forward with the review,  I thought Brina Courtney's story was interesting and a fast paced read.   I loved her characters.  Teagan was a depressed heroine after the loss of her boyfriend, Jason, who had disappeared in thin air.  So when her grandmother needed someone to help out after she had fallen, Teagan decided to take charge of her 21 year old life and move in with her.   It appeared to be a win- win situation.   Teagan could keep an eye on Gran and Gran could help her with a new start.    Teagan quickly made friends with Lark and began working at her gallery the day after she arrived in town.

Gran believed in witchcraft and was the leader of the coven unbeknownst to Teagan and  Teagan soon learned her good luck was a gift of sorts rather than just luck.   But could she learn to be a practicing witch and eventually be the leader of the coven?   Could she even believe in this?

It was another young adult read where the normal teenager learns there is more than just normal in this world, and it's turning them upside down and inside out!     I can not wait for the second in the Electi series!   I want to know if there is any saving of Jason.   What develops between Teagan and Seth?  And will Teagan accept her future as a coven leader?
I can not wait for book 2 in this series!   More info please....yes, I'm hooked!   I'm giving this a 3.5 winks out of five.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ,)
