My Review:
Suspense filled, twisted thriller...words that come to mind for The Prophet. What a gripping read....I absolutely ate this up. I loved the characters, they were all flawed in some respect and trying to maintain their humanity, (at least most of them were). Some had already crossed over to the dark side and the shadows, others seemed to question their actions and whether they were on the right side or edging closer to the shadows themselves. Two evil characters, Francis Ackerman Jr and the Anarchist and both pursued by Marcus Williams and his team. The twists and turns in the plot were exceptionally well plotted to hold the reader's attention and the action was incredible. Yes, I enjoyed reading this chilling book. Now I have a book that I think would make a great Halloween scary /gory movie, although it happens around Christmas time!
Ethan Cross is a very fluent writer and holds your attention from start to finish. It was interesting to see where each of the evil characters came from and how they had evolved. And it was interesting learning how the police, FBI and Dept of Justice thought out their plans to resolve the crime wave in Chi -Town! If you have a liking for a past paced, suspense-thriller, you really ought to catch up with The Prophet. It is excellent mystery-thriller reading!
Author Bio:
When
a fireman or a policeman would visit his school, most of his
classmates’ heads would swim with aspirations of growing up and catching
bad guys or saving someone from a blazing inferno. When these moments
came for Ethan Cross, however, his dreams weren’t to someday be a cop or
put out fires; he just wanted to write about it. His dream of telling
stories on a grand scale came to fruition with the release of his first
novel, the international bestseller, THE SHEPHERD.

What a great review!
I agree - one of the things I love most about Ethan Cross's books is how real his characters are. I never feel like I'm reading - it's like I'm experiencing.
