The Secret of Christmas Ciphers by Carolyn Carey/ Review

On the ninth day of Christmas I offer up to thee,
a review of The Secret Christmas Ciphers by Carolynn Carey.

What a lovely Christmas Novella this was.   The main characters, Abigail and her newly married spouse had loved each other since childhood, but due to a HUGE secret Derrick kept concerning another woman, there grew to be a rift between them.   In the 1800's, marriages were arranged between fathers and on their wedding day, the two not only exchanged vows, but caustic and hurtful comments aimed to spite one another.

Derrick is invloved in the rebellion against Napolean and is spirited away into active duty before the two can resolve their issues.  It is an attraction they can not deny and time is truly a healer for Abigail's wounded pride  during Derrick's duty bound absences.   When she finally learns what her husband's duties entail, she offers her assistance and is found to be a great help, but is it enough to repair their antagonism and allow them to love as a normal couple?

This was a very sweet and lovely romance; the story moves fast and it can be read in one sitting.  I enjoyed it fully and rate it a 4 WINK read!

Disclaimer:  I read for my pleasure.   I may receive ARC copies for review purposes, but I am not compensated for my reviews .  I like to read and I like to share my reviews.   I post my thoughts without prejudice or bias.  The words are mine and I write reviews based on my humble opinion.  I will admit, I seldom meet a book I don't like.
