Just Good Friends by Rosalind James/ RABT review

                        Contemporary Romance
Title: Just Good Friends (Escape to New Zealand #2)
                       Author: Rosalind James
                       Date Published: 8/31/12

Some bets were made to be lost.
Kate Lamonica isn’t Koti James’s type. Too small. Too dark. And heaps too much work. So it’s an easy bet that he can be her friend for six weeks without making a move on her, no matter what his mates would have said.
Kate can’t believe she’s made the bet at all. New Zealand had seemed like the perfect escape from the stalker who’d threatened first her peace of mind, and then her life. She certainly doesn’t need any more trouble. Why on earth has she agreed to spend time with a Maori rugby player who’s far too handsome and charming for his own good—and knows it?
But there’s more than one game Koti’s good at playing…

My Review:

The characters created by Ms James were very real to life.   Kate is strong and at the same time vulnerable.   She is honest  to a fault and rather blunt.   And although she comes wrapped in a lovely and tiny package, she can hold her own against Koti James' reputation with the ladies.   Her stalker Paul is never really described as anything but creepy and sick, making for a believable story.   I enjoyed the New Zealand setting and the local jargon in the dialogue.    The character's interaction in their growing friendship between Kate and Koti was believable and was not rushed as it developed into hot and steamy.   But it seemed they were not quite on the same page with their feelings for one another until the unimaginable happened!

I enjoyed the read tremendously .  I liked all the athletic things Koti and Kate  experienced as their relationship developed and now I want to go to New Zealand, (can we say Bucket list)?  The writing was fluent, the story line well thought out.  I did experience a rough transition in the early part of the story where I did not expect the day to have changed when it apparently had, but that was the only criticism I had and that was minor to say the least.   So as a nice romantic story, read it and enjoy!
